Digital printing

digital printingPreviously, machines with special shapes were used to print images. In the 70s of the last century, a new printing technology appeared – Digital printing is the process of transferring a print through a variable printing form. The new method differs from the old approach in the absence of an original or cliche. All you need is a flash drive, smartphone or laptop with the layout file.

Digitized data does not need to be further processed before being applied to products. The file is transferred to a business card, postcard or label, repeating the original image down to the smallest strokes and colors. Using digitized data, it is possible to produce batches of small tags or print A3 on designer cardboard.

The first ancestors of modern digital printed products appeared in the 30s of the last century. At the moment, digital printing — This is still a fairly new direction, which is constantly being improved.

This printing method is indispensable for very urgent orders, when the client needs printed products “yesterday.”

Types of digital printing

Among the many types of digital printing, there are 3 main ones:

  • sheet-fed printing - non-contact laser printing method;

  • roll printing - the principle of inkjet printing;

  • photo printing - applicable only on photo paper.

Depending on the type of equipment, file printing can be:

  • single color – reproduced by ionography;

  • digital full color printing – conveys thousands of shades of the original picture;

  • thermal treatment – transfers images to ceramics, fabric, canvas and other non-standard surfaces.

Digital printing on cardboard is beneficial in small quantities, for example, for making corporate cards with congratulations for the New Year holidays. Offset involves adjusting the makeready, paint supply level and machine for one type of product. Therefore, it is used to produce large batches of printing.

Prices for digital printing are averaged regardless of the number of copies. The process stops at any time, and the image is adjusted while working. Offset becomes cheaper as the batch increases. During the production of products, the colors of the elements cannot be changed, and a stop or pause in production entails costs.

Imaging technologies

Two types of equipment are used to produce printed products:

  • laser;

  • jet.

Digital laser printing occurs using a drum with photoreceptors charged with electricity. With the help of exposure, the charge is distributed over the surface, and further coloring with powders occurs. The images are fixed by heating.

Using an inkjet printer, roll-to-roll digital printing is carried out. The device uses liquid paint, which is distributed over the material by special nozzles. The technology is suitable for the production of banners, large-format posters and other outdoor advertising.

Sheet-fed digital printing is performed using laser and inkjet printers. The method is suitable for producing large quantities of advertising products, such as leaflets, booklets or business cards. After printing, the products are immediately subjected to the necessary post-processing: lamination, binding, etc.

How the digital printing service works

ATTOLIS quickly prints various printed materials in small and large batches. To transmit a clear, bright image, a toner application method is used with the image being fixed by temperature. Digital roll printing consists of several stages:

  • the layout of the future product is rasterized;

  • sent to the printer;

  • finished copies go for post-processing.

ATTOLIS provides digital printing services to wholesale and retail customers in Ukraine. Before printing, a test copy of the product is made. New equipment and experience in printing production allows the company to quickly fulfill orders.
