Quite interesting type of packaging is cartons with windows — die-cut elements of the packaging. Windows can be either covered with transparent film or left completely open. Windowed packaging enables to get a clear view of the product inside without opening the packaging.
How windowed packaging is manufactured?
Cutting of windows out of a flat sheet of cardboard is performed on die-cutting machinery with the help of a special die with blades.
A unique die is designed elaborately for every production run. The blades are mounted on the die in a particular place of it. Fixed on to a die-cutting machine the die with blades is cutting a window in every piece of packaging.
If necessary from inside the window is covered with transparent film.
